Bio
Born in Cuckfield in the Southeast of England, Paul Tupman is a successful Designer & Photographer who lived and worked as an Interior Designer in both Riyadh and Jeddah, Saudi Arabia from October 2001 until December 2010
Paul first picked up a camera at a very early age, chronicling life as he grew up amongst his friends and family in the south of England. Following his love for the arts, he entered into Art College before shaping his career in the design world and graduating in 1997 with a First Class Degree in Furniture Design.
Beginning his career in the UK as a Furniture Designer in Birmingham, Paul then moved to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia to take up a new role as Interior Designer in October, 2001. Continuing his career in Saudi Arabia, Paul later took the position as Senior Interior Designer at a new office in the coastal city of Jeddah.
In February, 2011 Paul re-located to the United Kingdom, settling in the Derbyshire village of Melbourne.
Since this time, Paul has been immersing himself into the local community, taking part in the Melbourne Arts Festival and offering his services to local charities. Paul has also made good use of his contacts in Saudi Arabia, working from the UK alongside Jeddah based ALAM Creative. Together they have created a strong partnership and identity taking on various architectural and design projects.
Photography
Photography was always a tool that Paul loved to go back to again and again during his studies, but it was only recently, several years later and in a foreign land that he shaped this passion into a more serious aspect of his life.
As a keen traveller and voyeur on all facets of life, Paul will turn his attention and camera to almost anything that comes his way. He has a particular passion for big wide open landscapes and grand architecture. But perhaps more than that, it is about capturing life and how it interacts within these surroundings.
Whilst working as an Interior Designer, Paul gained further photographic experience with Architectural and Interior Design photography.
His photography has been used commercially for both client portfolios and websites. Further to this his work was recently featured in a new architectural hardback publication focussing on the use of Travertine stone in contemporary architecture.

Stranger things have happened...
As a keen runner, cyclist and triathlete Paul also documented the sports clubs that he belonged to and participated in during his time in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – The Riyadh Tri Club, The Riyadh Wheelers and the Riyadh Road Runners.
He began taking his camera to the races in place of his bike or runners after hearing the following from a fellow triathlete…
”...we are waiting to see if your action photos are as good as the sort you normally do. In case the rest of you haven’t seen them, Paul normally does the Arty / Farty stuff.”
